One Pager Examples

A one pager example is a finished single page that sums up one subject. Business examples present a company, product, offer, startup, cause or project; classroom examples sum up a book or topic with quotes, symbols and analysis. Below are 24, grouped by type, each with its full text and a sample tag.

Show examples by type

  • Small batches, smoked in house

Nonprofit one-pager examples

A nonprofit one-pager runs in five sections: Our mission, The need, Programs, Impact and How to give. The mission fits in one sentence. The need is where a figure earns its place, so give it a source a donor could check, or keep the bracket until you have one. Impact should be counted rather than described: learners served, meals cooked, hours given. Finish with one clear way to give, plus a second for people who would rather volunteer.

Project one-pager examples

A project one-pager gets a team to agree on the plan before work starts. Its six sections are Goal, Scope, Timeline, Owners, Risks and Success measures. It is shorter than a full project plan or charter: the goal in a sentence, scope that names what is out as well as what is in, dates as milestones, and one name against each job.

When the scope or a date moves, update the page and send the new version to the same people, so there is one place everyone checks.

Classroom one-pager examples (for teachers)

These five samples show what a finished classroom one-pager can hold: a title, a short summary, a theme or main idea, a quote or key fact, a symbol and a personal connection. Show one before you hand out the assignment, so students see the standard. Each card links to the printable layout closest to it. For topics by subject, see the one pager ideas; for sheets to print, the one pager layout ideas and the blank one pager template.

Sample class work: Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, a classroom one-pager in the Card grid layout
Sample class work

Novel: Frankenstein

Classroom one-pager, Card grid layout, Ink

Seven boxes cover the usual requirements, from the summary to a personal connection.

Frankenstein

A one-pager on Mary Shelley's novel, first published in 1818.

Title and author

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, by Mary Shelley.

Summary

A young scientist, Victor Frankenstein, builds a living creature, rejects it in horror, and is ruined by what follows.

Theme

Ambition without responsibility: Victor creates life but refuses to care for what he made.

A key quote

"Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful." (the creature, to Victor)

Symbols

Light and fire: knowledge, and the danger of reaching for it.

A character

Victor Frankenstein: gifted and driven, he runs from every consequence of his work.

My connection

Who is responsible when an invention causes harm: the maker, or the people who use it?

Sample class work: The Bill of Rights, a classroom one-pager in the Classic column layout
Sample class work

History: the Bill of Rights

Classroom one-pager, Classic column layout, Aubergine

The key line is quoted exactly, and the connection asks a question about today.

The Bill of Rights

A one-pager on the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution.

Document

The Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791.

Summary

The first ten amendments to the Constitution, which protect rights such as free speech, religion, the press and a fair trial.

Main idea

Some rights are kept out of the government's reach, no matter who is in power.

A key line

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Symbols

A quill pen for the drafting, and a shield for rights that protect people.

A key figure

James Madison, who drafted the amendments and steered them through Congress.

My connection

Which of these rights do I use most days without thinking about it?

Sample class work: The water cycle, a classroom one-pager in the Two column layout
Sample class work

Science: the water cycle

Classroom one-pager, Two column layout, Ocean

In science, key terms and a key fact take the place of quotes.

The Water Cycle

A one-pager on how water moves between land, sea and sky.

Topic

The water cycle.

Summary

Water evaporates, condenses into clouds, falls as precipitation and collects in oceans, lakes and the ground, again and again.

Main idea

The same water moves around the planet in a loop, driven by the sun's energy.

Key terms

Evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection.

A key fact

The sun's energy drives the cycle: it warms water in oceans and lakes, and some of that water evaporates.

My connection

The rain on my walk to school was once water in an ocean or a lake.

Sample class work: The Pythagorean theorem, a classroom one-pager in the Sidebar layout
Sample class work

Math: the Pythagorean theorem

Classroom one-pager, Sidebar layout, Berry

In math, the formula appears in words and symbols, with everyday uses.

The Pythagorean Theorem

A one-pager on the rule that links the sides of a right triangle.

Topic

The Pythagorean theorem.

The idea in words

In a right triangle, the square of the longest side equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

The formula

a² + b² = c², where c is the side opposite the right angle.

Where you see it

  • Ladders and ramps
  • Screen sizes, measured corner to corner

A key figure

Pythagoras, though the relationship was known earlier, for example in Babylon.

My connection

I can check whether a corner is square with a tape measure.

Sample class work: Marie Curie, a classroom one-pager in the Minimal layout
Sample class work

Biography: Marie Curie

Classroom one-pager, Minimal layout, Forest

A biography swaps the theme for a main idea and adds a turning point.

Marie Curie

A one-pager on the physicist and chemist who studied radioactivity.

Person

Marie Curie, 1867 to 1934.

Summary

A physicist and chemist who studied radioactivity and, with Pierre Curie, discovered the elements polonium and radium.

Main idea

Careful measurement can open up a whole new field of science.

A key fact

The first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences.

A turning point

The 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics, shared with Pierre Curie and Henri Becquerel.

My connection

She kept working through doubt and danger. I want that patience in my own projects.

What the best examples share

New to the format? Start with what is a one pager, then come back to these.

  • One reader and one next step. The bakery writes for cafe owners and office managers; every line points toward an order.
  • A headline that says what it is. A plain name and tagline beat a slogan the reader has to decode.
  • Sections in a predictable order. Problem before solution, proof before the offer, contact last. Readers know where to look.
  • Proof that is real, or a visible placeholder. A bracket is honest. A made-up figure is a liability the moment someone checks it.
  • White space on purpose. Gaps between sections let the eye land on each heading.
  • For classroom work, a clear focus. One book or topic, two quotes or facts, a symbol and the student's own analysis, not a summary of everything.

The writing steps are in how to make a one pager; type sizes, margins and color are in one pager design.

Questions

What makes a good one pager example?

It is written for one reader and one next step. A strong headline says what the page is about, the sections follow a predictable order, proof is specific and real, and there is enough white space to scan it quickly. The examples above follow those rules, with brackets wherever a real figure would go.

What are examples of a business one pager?

Common ones are a company overview for clients and partners, a product sheet for buyers, a sales one-pager or sell sheet for prospects, an investor one-pager for a startup, a nonprofit summary for donors, and a project one-pager for a team. This page has at least two examples of each.

What should a nonprofit one pager include?

Your mission in one sentence, the need you meet with a figure and its source, the programs that meet it, the impact so far in real numbers, and one or two clear ways to give or volunteer. Keep it warm but specific: donors want to see what a gift does, not a list of adjectives.

What is a project one pager?

A project one pager puts a project's goal, scope, timeline, owners, risks and success measures on a single page so everyone agrees on the plan before work starts. It is shorter than a full project plan or charter, and it is easy to update when the scope or dates change.

What goes on a one pager for a novel?

Students usually include the title and author, a short summary, the main theme in one sentence, one or two key quotes, a symbol drawn or described, a character study, and a personal connection. The Frankenstein example above shows each of those on one sheet; teachers can print a matching layout.

Can I copy these one pager examples?

Yes. They were written for this site about made-up companies, so you can copy the structure and wording freely. Press Use this one on any business example to open it in the maker, replace the sample text and placeholders with your own details, and download Word, PowerPoint or PDF.

Are these real companies?

No. Every business example is a made-up Sample company, tagged as one in the image and the text, and every figure is left as a bracketed placeholder for you to fill with your own numbers. The classroom examples use real books and topics, and their facts are checked.
